Blended into the designs are also patterns to consistently lead the eye across the boards and posters. I use gritty textures for classic looks and bright patterns for more modern looks. To fill my designs with more personality, I incorporate a mxture of darker, grunge inspired designs and illustration with bright colors like pinks and blues, which allows me to build off of traditional skateboard trends while adding my own personal flair. I design with that in mind, to appeal to everyone in and out of the skate park. Skater personalities and tastes are always varied and individualistic. This diversity of skate style and culture allows me to blend experimental imagery and themes with my personal design style which is often structured and patterned, with designs and illustrations both monochromatic and exploding with color. Which skateboard brands offering decks with the most Pop can't be answered, because it also depends on skaters and their setup. Decks that lose their stiffness have less Pop over time. So the meaning of Pop depends strongly on the context. "The Pop angle" (very technical approach, involving many components and rarely used) ![]() The angle between the skateboard & the floor when the tail is pushed to the ground.A skater's bounce - "Gilbert Crockett has Pop.The stiffness and responsiveness of a deck - "The deck has Pop.". ![]() There are a few explanations for Pop, which are more or less common in the skateboard scene. Basically Pop is related to how high skateboard tricks are performed. "What is Pop?", "Which decks have the most Pop?" and "When does a deck lose its Pop?" - again, it's difficult to give a concrete answer. ![]()
